420 GSM vs 275 GSM Cotton | What Fabric Weight Means When You Shop
GSM means grams per square metre. It measures the weight of the fabric for a given area. In this edit, the 420 GSM cotton goes into an oversized hoodie and the 275 GSM cotton goes into a short-sleeve tee. Construction, fit and the layers you wear also affect how warm each piece feels.
Pick by how you’ll wear it
Choose the 420 GSM pullover if you want more fabric weight, a hood and a front pocket. The vintage wash, abrasion and raw edges give it a worn-in look. Choose the 275 GSM boxy tee if you want a short-sleeve base with dropped shoulders and a mineral-washed finish. It can be worn solo or under an open jacket.
Understand the finish
